Abstract

Olori, formerly known as Iyali, is an e-commerce handbag company. Nigerian fabrics are incorporated on the inside and outside of the bags, and a portion of the company's profits cover school tuition costs for underprivileged girls in Africa.

I was asked to rebrand Iyali (a Yoruba word meaning "family"). I found that the company's name, Iyali, did not quite capture the company's focus on female empowerment. I searched for the Yoruba word for "queen", and Olori was born. I designed the Olori font, icon, and website and was then asked to join the Olori team. I designed the company's first photo campaign and worked on product prototyping and material sourcing in the U.S. and abroad. Olori launched on October 5, 2017.
